A mixture of often incongruous elements, including but not excluded to: mother, wife, daugther, sister, friend, former psychotherapist, failed saleswoman, future school guidance counselor, gardener, volunteer, stealth-napper, depression and anxiety warrior, yogi-wannabe, wine drinker, and inconsistent excerciser.

Dorot's Frozen Chopped Herbs, Garlic, & Ginger
So I'm so totally hooked on Dorot's. They are like mini ice-cube trays filled with frozen, chopped herbs, garlic, or ginger in 1 tsp measurements. I found them at Trader Joe's and later at Whole Foods in the freezer section. Initially I thought, "What a great back-up plan!" and bought one each of the three at the store.
I brought them home, put them in my freezer, and promptly forgot about them.... Until one day I realized that my garlic had gone bad. I actually remembered my backup plan, pulled out the trays, and expected that the result would be somewhere between the real thing and garlic powder, probably closer to the latter. To my pleasant surprise, it was amazing!
This product save me prep time, tastes fresh and yummy, and increases my chances of preparing healthy meals because I always have in stock and it's not rotting in crisper.
Great product, Dorot!
Imperfection and False Starts
Life is full of both.
Especially for folks like me who see new, shiny objects everywhere! I'm thinking that my prior blog attempts were far too narrow in scope for me to keep them going. My gardening blog went south when the season came into full swing and I was constantly planting, weeding, staking, and watering. And then OH! A new shiny object! I filled my veggie beds with berry plants and went back to school.
Yeah I definitely admire the bloggers who are consistent and reliable. There are so many wonderful blogs out there! And gardens/gardeners. Music and musicians. I have so many differnt interests which has it advantages and obvious disadvantages. Perhaps we can place bets on how long this blog will actually last!!?? Extra points if you can guess my next temporary passion!
In an attempt to not circumscribe myself too much, I am not narrowing my topics. Thus Mamma Melange. Being a mother, I hear the word "Mamma" approximately 830,456 times a day. That was a given in my title since no shiny object can take me away from this lifetime role.
Merriam Webster defines a mélange as a mixture of often inconguous elements, originating from the French word mesler meaning "to mix." Being a Francophile, I love all things French, including the language. And the definition certainly suits me.
So here it goes. I'll import some posts from old blogs and add some new. Little glue. Lots of...
Oh look! A shiny object!!!
